A 6 hour first date

In June of 2023, we met in Webster's cafe in downtown State College.  It was a warm day, and I was nervous. I arrived 15 minutes early, hoping to have some time to cool off, and not be a sweaty mess before meeting this wonderful woman. Lo and behold she was already there, waiting for me.

We talked and drank coffee for about 2 hours, and then walked around town until we found somewhere to grab a late lunch. 

Another hour elapsed, and we continued to walk around, neither of us wanted the date to end, so we grabbed a blanket, and went to the arboretum for a magical afternoon in the grass watching the clouds float by, talking endlessly.

The Proposals

In December of 2025 we prepared for a trip to Philadelphia. In secret, both of us packed an engagement ring for this trip.

On the morning of 22nd of December we went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and we spent hours wandering the galleries. I didn't think that day could get any better, until we found ourselves in front of a Van Gogh painting, and Isako got down on her knee with a ruby ring and asked me to marry her. I was ecstatic, and emphatically said 'yes'.

On the evening of the 24th, upon returning to our hotel, I convinced Izzi to walk around City Hall with me. In front of the Christmas tree, I got down on my knee with an emerald ring to ask her.

It was just such a magical trip, to think that both of us had the same intention, it is just so pure.
